Who we are
Software Stories is a UK software consultancy run by Software Stories Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 16154703). Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
Software Stories Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this notice: we decide how and why it is used.
To ask a question about your data, or to use any of the rights below, send us a message through our proposal form and say that it is a privacy request.
What we collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to send us through the proposal form. The form asks for:
- Your name
- Your work email address
- Your company
- Your role (optional)
- The service you need and your project details
- Your budget and timeline (both optional)
- Whether you would like an NDA
Please don’t include confidential details or sensitive personal information in the form. If we need confidential details to scope your project, we can sign an NDA first.
How we use it
We use your details only to reply to your request, to discuss and scope the work, and, if we go ahead together, to manage that engagement. We don’t use them for anything else, and we never sell them.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you have sent us. If you ask us for a proposal or go ahead with a project, we also rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers to run this website:
- Web3Forms delivers the proposal form to our company inbox by email.
- Our email provider stores your message in that inbox while we deal with it.
- Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Their own privacy policies explain how they protect it.
Cookies and analytics
This website doesn’t set any cookies of its own, and it doesn’t use analytics or advertising trackers.
The “Book a call” links open Calendly, and the LinkedIn links open LinkedIn. Both are separate websites with their own privacy and cookie policies, which apply to anything you do there.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only for as long as we need them to respond to you and, if we work together, to manage the engagement. When we no longer need them, we delete them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access)
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete (correction)
- Ask us to delete your data (deletion)
- Object to how we use your data (objection)
To use any of these rights, contact us through the proposal form. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab). We’d be grateful for the chance to put things right first.

If the way we handle personal data changes, we’ll update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
